... work in progress...
I have worked in many different pet related arenas prior to grooming. I pull experience from jobs in the veterinary field ranging from kennel work, boarding, reception and assisting an after hours emergency veterinarian.

I graduated Tara Lara K9 Academy in 1996. I went to work for a handler/groomer in Washington State shortly after graduation. I bought my first salon, The Gentle Groomer in 1997. After working in high volume, multigroomer situations I decided spending quality time with each pet was most important to me. In 2005 I sold the Gentle Groomer and moved on to Lexidog in the Bridgeport Village. In 2006 I bought the business now known as D'tails in the Pearl.

I participate in continuing education and groom competitively around the country. I began competing in February 2007 and have advanced to the intermediate or B level. I try to attend 2-3 shows a year competing in at least 2. To date I have competed 6 times placing 3 times, one was best in show. I have competed with a mini Poodle, a Welsh Terrier, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, a Bedlington, and an English Setter.

Aside from the grooming seminars I have several options open to me for learning and keeping up to date on the latest styles. I recently had a silver medalist member of Groom Team USA for a three day private lesson. I have a few breeder/handlers who I learn from as well. I firmly believe one can never learn enough.
